This 7-day adventurous journey Spiti Winter Package from Delhi to the Spiti Valley via Shimla offers a scenic and spiritual exploration of Himachal Pradesh’s lesser-known Himalayan gems.

The trip for Spiti Winter Package begins with an overnight AC Volvo journey from Delhi to Shimla. From there, travelers proceed to Chhitkul, the last inhabited village near the Indo-China border, nestled along the Baspa River. The journey continues through the rugged landscapes of Kinnaur, reaching Nako, a serene hamlet famous for its lake and monastery.

Entering Spiti Valley via Sumdo, the route includes a unique visit to Gue Village to see a 500-year-old mummy. The base at Kaza serves as the hub for high-altitude village explorations including Key Monastery, Kibber, Komik (Asia’s highest village), Hikkim (world’s highest post office), and Langza, known for its ancient Buddhist temple and fossils.

The return journey retraces through Dhankar, where travelers can visit the ancient monastery and optionally trek to Dhankar Lake. After that, they reach Kalpa, a picturesque town with views of the majestic Kinnaur Kailash range. Finally, the trip winds down with a drive back to Shimla, concluding with a return Volvo journey to Delhi, leaving behind a memorable blend of adventure, nature, and cultural heritage. Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Delhi To Shimla

Once you reach Delhi, you will have to proceed towards your boarding point of an AC Volvo Bus for the overnight journey from Delhi to Shimla.

Day 2

Shimla To Chhitkul

Wake up in the morning and have a hearty breakfast. Start off this adventurous expedition to Spiti after a short briefing about the tour, post breakfast. Hit the roads and begin your transfer from Shimla to Chitkul. Pass through the popular towns of Sarahan and Rampur Bushahr to enter the spectacular Kinnaur valley. Travel along the Sutlej river till Karcham from where you will take a right turn towards Chitkul following the Baspa river. Chitkul is the last inhabited village before the Indo-China border and here you can also visit the famous ‘Hindustan ka Akhri Dhaba’ for an amazing meal. Overnight stay and dinner at hotel/homestay in Chitkul.

Day 3

Chhitkul To Nako

After early morning breakfast, you will be leaving for Nako passing through the beautiful Kinnaur Valley. Take the Indo-Tibet Highway and pass through the Khab bridge that marks the confluence of Spiti and the Satluj River. The road will further lead you to Nako, the last hamlet of the Kinnaur district. Upon reaching Nako complete the check-in formalities and head out for some sightseeing in Nako. Head over to see the beautiful Nako Monastery, situated by the beautiful Nako Lake. Spend some time soaking in the spiritual vibes as you walk through the hallways of the monastery adorned with colorful paintings and a collection of scriptures (Kangyur) that have direct teachings of Lord Buddha. Later, sit leisurely by the Nako Lake and witness a change in shades of the lake water as the sun sets behind the mighty mountains. Return back to the hotel for an overnight stay in Nako.

Day 4

Nako To Kaza And Sightseeing

Wake up early in the morning to a beautiful view of sunrise and have a healthy breakfast. Hit the roads and just as you cross Sumdo you will be entering the Spiti Valley. Just 3 Km after Sumdo, take a detour on the right through the gate to visit the 500-Year-Old Mummy in the Gue Village. You will then proceed towards Kaza where you can have your lunch before heading out to explore Kaza. After lunch, you will ride towards the world-famous Ki Monastery nestled between the mountains in a bowl-shaped valley of the small village Langza in Spiti valley. You will then go farther up the valley to the picturesque village of Kibber to treasure the expanses of beautiful landscapes and immeasurable beauty of the snow-tipped mountains. From Kibber, you will drive higher up to the secluded village of Gette where you can absorb stunning aerial views of Kaza and tie a prayer flag.

Day 5

Sightseeing In Kaza

Enjoy a hearty breakfast before you drive to some of the highest inhabited regions of the world. First, you will be visiting the highest village in Asia, Komik, which literally translates to ‘eye of a snow cock’. You will then proceed to Hikkim for a visit to the world’s highest post office in the world and if possible, you may even meet the postmaster and hear his stories. After sending out a postcard, you will be driving to Langza, a village that is home to the ancient Lang Temple which is estimated to be around 1000 years old. Overnight stay in Kaza.

Day 6

Kaza To Kalpa Via Dhankar

After a delicious breakfast, you will be retracing your path towards Kalpa in Kinnaur Valley. On your way back take a small detour towards the left to visit the tiny hamlet of Dhankar and stop by the majestic fort monastery at Dhankar that is situated amongst the rocky spurs and is said to be 1000 years old. If time permits, do take an hour’s climb above the village to visit the stunning turquoise Dhankar Tso or Dhankar Lake to enjoy stunning views of the valley. You will then start your journey further leaving behind Spiti Valley and at Powari take a right towards ReoKong Peo, which is the main town of Kinnaur district from where you will proceed to Kalpa. Spend the night in the beautiful Kalpa village overlooking the Kinnaur Kailash mountains. Overnight stay at camp/homestay in Kalpa.

Day 7

Kalpa To Delhi Via Shimla

Post breakfast at the hotel, you will head towards Shimla, known as the fruit bowl of Himachal Pradesh. Travel through the slithering roads following the Satluj and passing the rich Deodhar forests to reach Shimla. Upon reaching Shimla rest in the comfort of modern civilization, with a bag of delightful memories and exciting stories. Conclude the tour as you get dropped at Shimla Bus Stop where you will be boarding an AC Volvo Bus back to Delhi.

Know Before You Go For Tour Package

Rates may fluctuate with any change in services/hotels. The difference in the cost shall be borne by the client in case of any amendment in the package due to an increase in the number of guests, hotel change, etc., before the beginning of the trip.
The hotels are subject to their availability. In case they are not available, the travellers will be accommodated in a property of similar standard.

porter’s charges, tips, medical cost and any cost of medical assistance (if any), alcoholic beverages, any kind of entry fee, Forest Pass, Cable car charges, boating charges, laundry charges, Permission cost, Toll tax, and any other pony-dandy charges, those are of personal nature and anything not included in the package includes.
To operate the tour successfully for the interest of the tourist, the tour operator may change the programme. Decision of the tour operator is final and the tourist to abide the same during the tour.
Aikatan Tours & Travels reserves the right to rearrange the itinerary due to any kind of disturbance that occurred (i.e weather condition, political condition, or any others) without changing the total number of days and without compromising any service.
If the planned tour route gets changed due to political insurgency or natural calamity and if the driver/car/hotel charges extra for alternate route to reach the destination, then the tourists should pay the extra cost.
All entry tickets for stupas, monasteries, sightseeing, state and entry fees, monument entrances, camera charges, permits, etc. are not a part of the package.
Any personal expenses or items of personal nature will not be included in the package. Any meals or transfers not mentioned in the itinerary are to be considered an exclusion in the deal. Any kind of drink (alcoholic, aerated, or mineral water) is not included in the package cost.
Avoid using plastic bags and maintain the ecological balance of the destinations. Travellers littering may be fined.
Usage of the swimming pool at any accommodation is strictly according to government guidelines.
The exact location will be shared with you post-booking.
Carry dry snacks/food, granola bars, etc. from home. Carry a regular and another insulated water bottle with you, so that you can refill.
Any breakage or damage of any items in the resort or during tour will be charged at actuals.
All international and domestic airfare, visa fees, airport tax, or any kind of insurance cover is not a part of the package.
If in case any traveller wants to or decides to leave the trip in the middle, all the expenses from that point onwards will be borne by the traveller. Neither the operator nor Aikatan Tours & Travels will be held responsible for such decisions or for any refund.
Guidelines issued by the State-Government are to be followed. Social distancing to be maintained. Frequent hand sanitization and use of mask recommended.
ID proof is mandatory for each individual guest at the time of booking, and also upon arrival. PAN card will not be considered as a valid address proof.
Children above 8 years of age will be considered as adults only. There are no charges for children below 8 years of age
The extra adventure activities and ropeways/cable cars will be at your own cost and are not included in the tour.
Any kind of Monumental charges are not included in the package.
Because of any reason, political, natural or personal, if the tour or a particular activity is not completed, no refund will be processed.
AC doesn't work in the Hilly Areas
